Massimo Banzi (Arduino)

Professor, interaction designer, software architect: Massimo Banzi wears many hats, but perhaps more than anything else, Massimo is one of the visionaries behind the open-source Arduino project. In 2005, Banzi and co-founder David Cuartielles spotted an opportunity to create easy-to-use, versatile and open-source microcontrollers –geared towards designers, artists, students, and hobbyists. Arduino’s popularity continues expanding at a breakneck pace, further boosted by its usage in many 3d printers.Apart from Arduino, Massimo currently teaches Interaction Design at SUPSI Lugano in Switzerland, and is a regular contributor to the Italian Wired Magazine. In the past, he founded Italy’s first FabLab in Torino, and served as CTO for the incubator, Seat Ventures.
